February 27th marks the one year anniversary of the Community Mobile Market’s first opening!
Last year, on a relatively warm February day, the Seeds of Success team launched Duluth’s first ever Mobile Market outside the Children’s Museum. Acting as a “grocery store on wheels,” the Mobile Market provides fresh food, pantry staples, dairy products, canned goods, and more to communities across Duluth. Similar to the farmers market system, the Mobile Market also provides discounts for children, elders, and SNAP participants.
Through this food justice program, the Seeds team aims to reduce barriers to fresh, healthy food in the community.
During the first year, the Mobile Market:
● Visited 9 different locations
● Provided over $4,200 worth of food discounts
● Completed over 1,000 transactions
