Computer Skills Course Graduates

Eight individuals, pictured below along with their two instructors and Community Action Duluth's Community Tech Coordinator, completed the Computer Skills Course. This is a partnership between Community Action Duluth and ISD 709's Adult Basic Education program. The curriculum is through Northstar Digital Literacy and participants earned a certificate for each module they passed, such as Computer Basics, Microsoft Word, and others.

The students enjoyed the course and opportunity to learn more. Twila said, "I loved the class because we never get too old to learn. I really wanted to know the ins and outs of all the buttons on the computer. Pretty soon I'll start my own business and I need to know about computers. It's never too late to learn the technology. I'm proud of my certificates, even if it is a basic level. The class was a real blessing. The teachers and staff were great and helpful. I hope CAD can do it again."

We expect to hold another class in September, and it is not yet scheduled. If you are interested in participating, we are creating a wait list. We will reach out to that group with more details when they become available. To be added to the wait list, please contact Cyndi by email or call her at 218-726-1665 ext. 214.

Gaining computer skills is a valuable step toward many tech-driven careers, especially in gaming. With the right knowledge, graduates can explore fields like game design and development, where high-performance gaming PCs play a crucial role. For those interested in creating their own games, outsourcing game development can be a great way to bring ideas to life with professional expertise. It’s exciting to see more people gaining the technical skills needed to shape the future of gaming and digital entertainment.
